How to get my dog to come back?

So I’ve asked this before. I have a 1 year old pit bull. He’s neutered and all. But here’s the problem. Ever since he’s been little, we’ve walked him on a leash. We live next door to a huge field, and on the other side of the field..McDonalds. All of this is fine, but there’s a busy street also. Sometimes, he gets out of the house and it takes us about an hour to catch him. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lure him back into the house. He listens to me when we’re in the house, but as soon as he sees someone walking by, he’s chasing them. This would be fine if he were a poodle, but he’s a 55lb pit. He isn’t mean and just wants to play, but when he gets loose, there’s no catching him. I’ve considered the remote shock collars, or electric fences, but the fence cant be put up in the field, because it’s owned by a bank. So I need suggestions. Thanks.

i think you need to enroll him in some dog classes and practice the recall with him but kep him on a lead at all times when out its dangerous for your dog if he gets loose but also for pedestrians he might be soft and you know he wont hurt anyone but other people wont and in the wong situation he might lash out and bite which is something you dont want to happen
