Remote Dog Collar Trainer
Is a shock collar a good anti bark sollution?
I have a small patadale/border cross. He is relatively quiet at home but gets very excited when playng and barks constantly every 2 seconds!!!He also does this on walks! And sometime it gets embarissing! I have tried other methods of stopping him barking, such as remote high pitch sounds, taking him to a trainer, and disaplining him. However none of these seems to work. I am looking to buy a shock collar.
Which brand is best?
Do they really work effectivly?
Do they cause the dog any harm?
He wont be wearing the collar all the time. Just on walks.
thanks ![]()
okok ive decided not to get one!!! And its not cruel, its a humane way of teaching your dog. I take him very reguarly on walks, and hes the best dog in the world! I guess he just loves to bark!
First of all – There is NO such thing as a shock collar. Secondly E-collars are for training, No-Bark collars are for stopping barking. They don’t shock your dog, they use electrical stimulation to correct a dog. They don’t hurt like choke and prong collars do, they’re simply uncomfortable and therefore MORE humane than other training collars. Putting a No-Bark collar on him might just do the trick for you! I put No-Bark collars on my kenneled dogs every night before I go to bed, if I didn’t, I’d never go to bed. Be reminded they’re not supposed to be worn all the time, only at times when the dog barks and you can’t be there to directly interfere (like if your dog barks while you’re gone or out in the yard). If you’re around you don’t need a No-Bark collar to correct him, you step in and give a good old fashioned leash correction and a word that means “Quiet” such as: Quiet, Hush…or my personal favorite “Shuddap”. On a serious note, I hope I helped, good luck!
PS: Only somebody with a very low IQ who doesn’t read the printed instructions that come with any high quality E-collar/No-Bark collar can use one incorrectly. A few idiots have given a great tool a bad name, and a few more take 3rd and 4th hand stories and preach them as if they were there and that the “facts” of what they heard are gospel. E-Collars are safe, effective, and humane when kept out of the hands of hillbillies, children, and alcoholics…
JyLuh? You’re a plain ole flat out liar. An E-Collar doesn’t pack enough punch to electricute a mouse to death much less a dog.
Shelter Puppies what solid PROOF do you have the collar is what damaged the Great Dane’s heart and not, well, you know, old fashioned heart disease which is fairly common in Danes? Secondly you don’t correct a dog with an e-collar for spying another dog, you use an e-collar for offleash obedience aka the dog is already trained and is purposely ignoring commands because it knows it’s offleash aka the dog KNOWS why it’s being corrected via Positive Reinforcement Training and Corrections Training (via leash and training collar). The e-collar is used in end stage offleash obedience. If it’s so bad why are the best trained dogs on the planet trained with e-collars such as: BSP winners (well, competitors in general), Sch Nationals participants and winners, PSDs, and so forth?……………………
