My dog’s collar is staining metal stains onto fur?

This happened last year when we had a rather rainy period. I looked locally for a dog tag without any metal on it, no luck! But it stopped and we haven’t had a problem but now we’ve been having a lot of warm weather and thunder storms and it’s happening to her again. I can’t imagine it’s good for her fur! Any ideas?
And also as I can’t find a metal free tag locally could you recommend a website that will do a personalized dog tag?

No I never leave my dog out in the rain. It happens on walks in the rain.
Yeah it’s really odd! Because I dry her off when we get back from a walk but it’s already made a stain on the fur that looks like she’s a bike that has been rusted. And I never leave her out in the rain that would be just plain cruel.
The collar is not a problem it is the tag with the phone number on it encase she gets lost

Either switch to a hard plastic one or you can coated tag with clear nail polish or something similar so the metal doesn’t rub off. I bought my dogs’ tags from this company & am very pleased with quality & price & speed of delivery.(within a week)
