i will be planning on adopting a small dog about 1-4 years old. no pups
Lose the rawhides for now – i was told by my vet and trainer that rawhides are not good for puppies (they have no inhibition when it comes to chewing and puppy teeth can easily crack on the rawhide.) In general, rawhide isn’t the best anyway – small pieces can choke a dog and/or enlarge in the belly and cause blockages.
Otherwise, it looks good. Yes you’ll need a crate for training purposes (they help a pup learn to “hold it” for periods of time, and they can keep the dog safe from the house and vice versa.)
Be careful with plushie toys and rubber toys (they can be torn easily and swallowed.) Add in Nylabone bones (they have puppy specific bones) and a Kong.
My dog (17 lbs) finishes a five lb bag in a little over a month.
