How do I get my dog to walk beside me and not in front of me?

When we walk outdoors, she wants to be several feet ahead of me instead of next to me. I have tried a choke chain, a pronged collar, a gentle leader and a gentle leader harness and she still pulls ahead. A plain leather buckle collar works just as well as any of these. She does not lunge, just wants to walk on a tight leash way out in front of me. She is a very docile, calm, gentle lab, about 3 years old. She is a rescue dog who we have had about a year. She learned it was ok to walk way out on a tight leash before she came to us. We have gone to obedience school and she passed with flying colors. She will walk next to me in the training arena, but once we get outdoors it’s nose to the ground way out ahead of me.

You need to teach her to heal.
