The burning issue of the day, when it comes to dogs usually has to do with diet. Ever article refers to what to feed our dogs. However, no seems to speak of the importance of water we give them. Always address this when we are delivering a personal protection dog, it is not an issue that seems to press a lot, if any.

It has been my experience that dogs are better served by receiving unchlorinated water. Not only is there an elimination of chemicals unnecessary in the system of your dog, but you can extend the life of the dog, often for years.

Command Control K9 is fortunate to have a well in his 105 acres of state of the art facility. However, we realize that not everyone is as fortunate. The good news is that there are other options. Many of my clients buy a filter of water that can be connected to the faucet or the top of a pitcher. Another method is to let the tap water in a bucket for 24 hours with an air stone for aeration. Leaving the water in the sun also removes chlorine. Finally, the non-chlorinated water is available to buy at your local store.

Personal protection dogs are a great investment. Giving your dog unchlorinated water is a small way to increase the life of your German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd. Our dogs can not only protect us, but are part of the family too.
