Dog Collars That Talk

dog collars that talk
are there things you shouldn’t talk to a therapist about?

I just started seeing a new therapist. I’ve very comfortable with talking to him about almost everything. I see him mostly for my eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia). Last time I saw him I mentioned some of my sexual fetishes(interests etc…)that my husband had issues with. Basically I like to be told I worthless and to be treated like I’m an animal.

What I haven’t told him is that I really like to be treated like an animal. I wear a dog collar 24/7. I only take it off in bath. I even slept with it. I’ve been thinking about asking my husband to buy me a large dog cage and let me eat out of dog bowl in privacy of our bedroom.

I’ve hinted to my husband that I would like a cage and dog bowl but he doesn’t seem comfortable with the idea. I wanted to bonce it off my therapist to see what he thinks of this but I’m a little shy. I worried that it too much to be talking about.

Are there things you shouldn’t talk to your therapist about? If there are is this one of them?

To be honest, a fetish is nothing to be embarassed about. Many people have fetishes and its just what gets you off. Every human being has some type of fetish, whether or not their in tune with their bodies enough to recognize it is up to the person. You seem very in tune with yourself. If thats your fetish then dont be embarassed. Your husband doesnt understand that it turns you on to get overpowered.

In terms of telling your therapist, i’ve learned after all my years going to therapy, that you tell your therapist only where your comfort level goes. If you violate your comfort level things become awkward in the office and you wont accomplish anything. Feel free to tell him anything if you are comfortable. As many have said, you have to tell a therapist something before they can help you with it.
