Dog Collars Metal Buckle
Dogs have a problem with keeping their collars on.. any advice?
Hey…
I have two young staffies who are 5 months and 11 months old.
Ever since we got Reggie (the young one) we have been trying to get him to wear a collar but we find them a few hours- a day later and all that is left of his collar is the metal buckle that fastens it to the other side (appears that one of them has eaten the leather which cant be good).
We then noticed that Tammys collar started getting chewed at the end also whilst it was still on here and came to the conclusion that they’re prob trying to help eachother get eachothers collars off by chewing them off.
They always seem to get reggies collar off completely and chew it up altho tammys just gets chewed at the end but she still wears it on her.
We have tried several things… sprayin their collars with anti chew spray… tucking the excess collar back under the buckle so they cant get to it.
None of this works… what can we do?
Buy BETTER quality collars.
Tighten-only slack enough for 2 fingers to be slipped in.
*&* TRAIN!
Why are they wearing collars when unsupervised?
