Dog collar that won’t leave a mark around dogs neck?

I have a Sheltie, sable and white. Every collar I have gotten her in the past leaves a mark on her white hair around her neck. I even tried leather this past time and it leaves a black mark. I am afraid to try something hot pink cause I don’t want a hot pink mark around her neck which I have seen on some dogs.

You could try a satin-lined collar. I’ve bought a few collars from Collarmania, which does custom hand-made collars. You can request satin lining and ask that they use white for the lining color, that would probably do the trick. And they’re actually pretty reasonably priced, for custom-made. Mine were about $20 – $25, but I have a big dog and I got an extra wide collar with her name embroidered onto it. The site is Collarmania (dot) com.

I also get collars from TrendyHounds, but I think all of theirs are black lining (but it’s a felt type material, which might not stain? Those aren’t custom, but they’re only $15 each- also really well made and lots of patterns to choose from). They don’t stain my dog, but she is brown.
