No-Bark collars?!!!! Please help me keep my dog!!!?

I have a wonderful pup that I absolutely adore and cannot imagine living without. The problem is…that when I go to work, he will NOT stop barking. He will bark sometimes for HOURS on end…and while I do have a dog walker to walk him in the middle of the day, I cannot afford to put him in doggy day-care everyday.
My neighbors have gotten mad and I’m told by my landlord that if i can’t get my dog to stop barking, I will have to get rid of him

I cannot remember the brand of the collar I used, but I bought it at Petco and it worked very well. It stopped the barking and that made a world of difference. The kind I used delivered a mild electrical shock when noise activated it. I checked it out on myself first, and found that the shock delivered was startling but not agonizing. I also checked with a friend who used the bark collar on her dog. I observed that her dog was not afraid of the collar, did not seem distressed by it, and manifested no signs of being stressed, upset or harmed by it.

The Innotek model should have worked. That’s similar to the model I used. Are you sure the collar was in working order? Did you check it on yourself first?

FWIW, last-ditch resort before giving your dog up, talk to your vet about “debarking” surgery. I know a lot of animal rights people are dead set against this, but if the alternative is giving your dog up and possibly having it euthanized if no one else will adopt it, I think it’s a viable option. I have known a couple of dogs that have had this done and from what I could see, it did them no harm and didn’t appear to distress them.
