what is the best collar for a long haired german shepherd dog.?

A rolled leather collar with ID/rabies tags is the safest, low hair wearing collar if you must keep a collar on the dog always. Leaving any collar on a dog 24/7 is dangerous, esp a chain/nylon training collar but any collar can get caught and kill them. There are collars that release when caught which are safest. Breakaway collars. For obed. training and walking a pinch collar with a back up over sized training collar gives one the most control. I do not keep collars on any dogs when home as I have tried breakaway cat collars on my minpins and had them get caught in the yard and in their crates. My dogs wear collars or harnesses when they leave the yard.
