Can I embroider names on grosgrain ribbon with the brother se-270d machine?

I’ve read reviews where people say it’s an ok machine for beginners but will soon want to upgrade. I am looking to make dog collars and embroider names and sayings on the ribbon then sew to webbing of collar. Does anyone think think it’s a waste of money to purchase one for that reason? I really don’t want to spend as much money as some of the others are listed for. Thanks for the help!

if that is all you plan to do with the machine then you should be just fine. the reason for upgrading would be the size of the embriordy field but since you only want to do collars the 270 d should be just fine.
