Dog Collar Unique

My dog has one major problem!! what to do!??? ahhhh help pleasee?

She is a 1 yr old female boxer and once in a while (well at least once a month) she would get loose outside around my neighborhood and just runs around like a crazy dog. No matter how hard I try, she will NOT COME to me and won’t get caught. She would just kind of stare and lets me get somewhat close to her then when I am about to reach out and catch her collar she runs away again. It’s like she likes playing this mind game with me. Once she runs around for about 30 mins or so…she gets somewhat tired and somehow we manage to catch her. It’s very nerve wrecking when this happpens. Im afraid either she will get hit by a car (but thank goodness this neighborhood doesnt have cars driving around at all) or that a neighbor might start complaining.

Is this sometihng I just have to wait it out cuz she is still immature or maybe it’s her personality? She was the pup in the litter that wouldnt come to you when you call her yet something was so unique about her so I picked her out.

Get a training collar and a 30 foot lead. Then you can start working with her in a situation that is controlled. Take her out and let her think she has freedom but the 30 foot lead will give you the security you need to work on the training. Call her and make her come to you while on that lead!! good luck I know it is hard but it works, just went through it my self with our Akita who is 6 months old!!
