dog collar no slip
Alternative Collar?

i have a schipperke and he has a lot of energy. when he is out on the lead i fear that if he was ever in a situation, he could easily slip out of his collar, so i have been using a martin-gale type collar. this is an alright collar, but it is noisy, for it is half nylon and half chain. he has 2 metal dog tags that i have on his collar and between those and the chain, he is a one man band. it is so noisy! so does anyone have an alternative collar to a martin-gale type that i could try?

we’ve tried regular cloth collars, but we’re afraid that he could slip out? is this a reasonable fear?
he walks very wll on the leash and is by no means out of control on walks.

Try a harness like this one: http://www.petco.com/product/7784/Aspen-Pet-Single-Ply-Nylon-Adjustable-Dog-Harnesses.aspx I use a harness when my dog is out on her run. As long as it fits properly you should have no problems. I always keep a nylon collar with her rabies & ID tag on just incase.
