Where to Have Your Dog’s Birthday Party
If you’re planning on throwing your dog a birthday party, you’ll need to decide where it will be held. Like many traditional birthdays, you can have the party at your home. This can be tricky if you’re inviting canine guests. You may be comfortable having a bunch of dogs running through your house, but what if you’re not? Some great alternatives to at having your dogs birthday party at home are dog parks and dog training facilities.
Who Will You Invite?
When throwing your dog a birthday party you’ll have to decide who you will invite. Will your guests be “human” or “canine or both?” If you decide to have canine guests at your dog’s birthday party, it’s important to make sure that only well behaved dogs can attend. If you know that a friend has a dog that doesn’t get along well with other dogs, it’s probably a good idea to leave them off of your guest list.

What you will need for your dog’s birthday party:
Invitations, plates, balloons, tablecloth, napkins, utensils, garbage bags, doggie doo-doo bags, garbage cans, doggie toys, water, bowls, and decorations.
Birthday Cake and Treats- Do I make my own or buy from dog bakery?
If you have the time you may want to make your dog their birthday cake. Here is a great dog birthday cake recipe:
Peanut Butter Carrot Cake
Naturally sweet, colorful and flavorful, this cake is simple and easy to make. Great for Fall.
o 1 cup flour
o 1 tsp baking soda
o 1/4 cup peanut butter
o 1/4 cup vegetable oil
o 1 cup shredded carrots
o 1 tsp. vanilla
o 1/3 cup honey
o 1 egg
Mix flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 8″ round cake pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Let cool. Puree cottage cheese in blender for icing. Decorate with more peanut butter and carrots.

Games
You want to make sure that when you throw your dog a birthday party that you have entertainment for both human and canine guests. Having games that include both humans and canines are fun and can be enjoyed by everyone!
Frisbee is one of the simplest and most enjoyable dog birthday party games. Human guests are needed to participate. They throw the Frisbee and yes, you’ve guessed it, one of your doggie guests has to bring back. It’s a good idea to have 2 or 3 frisbee’s on the go…to keep all the dogs busy!
Dog Agility Courses are a huge hit . If you’re having your dogs birthday party at home you can set up an agility course in your backyard. IF nit, most training facilities already have them set up for you to use!
