designer dogs?

i was speaking to a lady who owns a little pet supply shop about ordering my dog a cotton collar and she seemed like she knew quite a bit until i saw her dog and said “oh how cute a little yorkie mix” and she said “actually she’s a pure bred chorkie” it just made me loose all respect for her. is that really judgemental of me? it just makes me so mad that these people sell these mutts for so much money when so many mutts sit in shelters waiting for homes.

Yeah… Im not sure. It makes me want to slap people in the face (I had a man come into work the other day telling every his dog was a “Moodle” like it was some special, rare breed). Although, I guess some people might by illeducated about cross breeding and designer dogs. Lucky I wasnt there or I probably would have gone on a long rant about supporting BYBs and Puppy Mills and how her dog (as cute as it was) was nothing more than a mutt. I think there needs to be education around about puppy mills, BYBs and designer dogs. Maybe someone should write a book?
