stop my dog from licking its scar after surgery?

We have a Maltese, he just had surgery last week for bladder stones. He wasn’t so bad the first week after the surgery, but he got half of the stitched taken out yesterday and he hasnt stopped licking the area. We put on baby powder like the vet said to. We tried a collar, but that’s not working. Anyone know any “home remedies” or just anything out of the ordinary that works or might work?

Wrap it in gauze, this will prevent her from getting to the wound. This will also keep it from getting infected. Change the bandages from time to time to keep it from getting gross.
