Christmas Dog Collars Canada

Can you kill fleas by freezing them?
I am doing a renovation on a home. I left 2 guard dogs on sight to roam the yard and basement of the house for security. The place is now infested with fleas. I have been trying to kill these things for a few weeks now. I have flea bathed the dogs and applied collars. I have vaccuumed and mopped the house with bleach and water, vinegar and water, and sprayed the whole house twice with raid for fleas. But, these little suckers are still everywhere. I am gonna just give up. Will the winter kill these little bastards? Can I freeze them? I will leave this house wide open till christmas if I have too. I live in Canada too!!!
Those Canadian winters should be able to kill all stages of fleas so that is a good idea. It will save you from having to put pesticides everywhere. If you need to use something, boric acid is inexpensive, easily available and not as harmful as other compounds. You can also treat the grounds with nematodes although you do need some moisture to keep them going.
I would toss the flea collars as they don’t work and use something like Frontline on your dogs until everything is flea-free. I would then live in a house with hard surface flooring and discontinue all flea preventatives as you probably won’t need them.
Hopefully you will have a cold winter. I understand that even temperatures near freezing will get those little suckers.
Good luck!
